Our Mission

Sandalwood Family Centre has operated for over 25 years as inclusive, safe and accessible to all members of the community. The building operated from is centrally located in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, within the Robert Street precinct with the William Grundt Memorial Library, Men’s Shed and the Eastern Goldfields Community Centre (catering for seniors). These services complement the family and children’s programs run at Sandalwood Family Centre.

The aim of the Centre is to target young families, new families and multi-cultural families who have just arrived in Kalgoorlie-Boulder or are seeking more connections within the community. Ensuring the community who may be experiencing isolation, the opportunity to access established groups and services, including playgroup, community groups, room rental, childcare (external service provider) and community information. The Centre provides a safe, welcoming and well-equipped environment for families with young children, with large rooms, outside play spaces and kitchen facilities. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Centre is able to provide affordable programs and room hire to community groups, making them accessible to all.

Our Team

The Sandalwood Family centre is managed by a volunteer committee with a paid coordinator, to provide a safe place to meet, connect, learn, celebrate, seek help and gain referrals to relevant agencies and organisations.
